The missile was reportedly fired by the Syrian air defense trying to shoot down an “Israeli cruise missile”.

I think the Israelis already have gone past that stage. They’re probably scratching their heads, wondering how the Syrians are so gullible to buy this Russian junk.
I don’t remember the year, but Syria took to the air against Israeli incursions of their airspace. The outcome was very bad for the Syrians as almost their entire air Force ceased to exist. Every Syrian aircraft was shot down handily. The missile systems couldn’t even find the Israelis. The Russians, shortly after, sent a very large contingent to Syria to find out how it happened. The level of quality continues to this day.
Putin’s “super weapons” have not alarmed anyone as no one thinks he has most of them. The only one he probably has is the atomic torpedo drone as that does not involve anything from the bleeding edge of technology.
The Turks destroyed these Pantsir systems in Libya too I believe.
