Israeli Navy missile ships destroyed a Syrian naval fleet during an operation last night aimed at eliminating strategic threats to the country, Defense Minister Israel Katz said during a visit to the naval base in Haifa, The Times of Israel reports .
According to him, Israeli troops are being established in the buffer zone between Syria and the Golan Heights.
In addition, Katz ordered the creation of a “sterile defensive zone” in southern Syria without a permanent Israeli presence to prevent any terrorist threat to the country.
