He insists that he is not an anti-Semite.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz criticized the words of Alexander Lukashenko , who focused on the origin of the people involved in the high-profile corruption case.

The day before, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus said that in the case of the inspector for the Vitebsk region, ex-Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo, “more than half are Jews.”

“Three dozen people are listed. Forgive me, I’m not an anti-Semite, but more than half are Jews. Is it that we have a special, privileged position, that they steal and don’t think about their future? Everyone is the same before the law. Both Jews and Belarusians, and Ukrainians, Russians and Poles,” he said.

Katz, in a comment to the Jewish News Syndicate, called these statements unacceptable and outrageous. According to him, they “sound like clear anti-Semitic comments.” The head of the Bureau of the Ministry of Eurasian Affairs, Yuval Fuks, has already filed a complaint with the Ambassador of Belarus to Israel.

Lukashenko’s scandalous statement

Other words from Lukashenko about Jews:

Back in 2007, a scandal broke out when Lukshanko compared Bobruisk to a “pig farm.”

“If you were in Bobruisk, did you see the state of the city? It was scary to enter, there was a pig pen. It was mainly a Jewish city, you know how Jews feel about the place where they live. Look in Israel, I was there… I don’t want to offend them in any way, but they don’t really care that the grass is cut, like in Moscow, for Russians and Belarusians,” he said.

  1. As fat and stiff loony Luka is, he sure is still wiry enough to stuff a foot deeply into his big mouth.
