Iran has transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia,  The Wall Street Journal and CNN reported on September 6, citing sources. Bloomberg reported  on September 2 that Iran was preparing to supply missiles.

According  to the British newspaper The Times, Russia has received a batch of more than 200 ballistic missiles from Iran. According to Ukrainian intelligence cited by the newspaper, these are Fatah-300 missiles, which have a range of up to 110 kilometers. A Russian ship delivered the missiles to a port in the Caspian Sea on September 4, a Ukrainian military source said.

The WSJ reports that U.S. officials briefed allies on the Iranian deliveries this week, including a Sept. 5 briefing for ambassadors in Washington. U.S. officials, the newspaper writes, confirmed that the missiles had “finally arrived.”

US National Security Council spokesman Sean Savett said that “any transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia would represent a dramatic escalation in Iran’s support for Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.”

Iran denies supplying Russia with ballistic missiles to fight in Ukraine. Iran refrains “from such actions itself, but at the same time calls on other countries to stop supplying weapons to the parties involved in the conflict,” Iran’s mission to the United Nations in New York said.

The Russian Embassy in Washington did not comment on the media reports.

Previously, Iran transferred short-range missiles from the Fateh-110 family to Russia, capable of hitting targets at a distance of 300 to 700 kilometers.

Iran and Russia also cooperate in the production of Shahed attack drones, which are regularly used to attack Ukraine.

  1. It’s bad enough that we can’t prevent this evilness, but even preventing both shitholes from using OUR components to produce their various weapons seems an impossible task for our glorious leaders.
