Experts believe that the deployment of these missiles will significantly strengthen Iran’s strike capabilities.

Iran is close to signing a deal with China to purchase supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles, Reuters reported , citing sources.

According to the agency’s sources, the deal for Iran to purchase Chinese CM-302 missiles is close to completion. However, they noted that the delivery date has not yet been agreed upon.

The agency recalled that the Chinese CM-302 missiles have a range of about 290 kilometers and are designed to bypass ship defenses by flying low and fast. Two weapons experts told reporters that their deployment would significantly enhance Iran’s strike capabilities and pose a threat to US naval forces deployed in the region.

“If Iran gets supersonic missiles to attack ships in this area, it will completely change the situation. These missiles are very difficult to intercept,” Danny Tsitrinovich, a senior fellow on Iran at the Israeli National Security Institute think tank, told reporters.Read also:

In addition, a representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry told reporters that Tehran has military and defense agreements with its allies, and “now is the right time to use these agreements.” The Chinese Foreign Ministry did not confirm information about negotiations on the purchase of missiles.
