“Inheriting the Methods of Hitler’s Germany”: Historian on Russia’s Cruelty to Ukrainians

According to the expert, the enemy is trying to destroy our entire infrastructure directly within the boundaries of military clashes.

Russian occupiers are imitating the methods of Nazi Germany during World War II with their actions . This opinion was expressed by Vadim Zadunaisky, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Professor of the Ukrainian Catholic University, on air at Kyiv24.

“The enemy is now not only killing our defenders, destroying the civilian population, he is simply destroying our entire infrastructure directly within the combat clashes. This is a very illustrative comparison, 28 thousand villages that were destroyed by Nazi Germany and now we will see thousands of villages that have already been destroyed by the Russian army in combat operations against Ukraine,” the historian noted.

Zadunaisky also recalled the Ukrainian children who were illegally taken away by Russia during the full-scale invasion:

“We will remember the children who were taken away, when the Russian ombudsmen try to avoid responsibility and at the international level talk about how they did it as part of a humanitarian mission. But there are already judicial investigations underway to bring to justice those Russian government officials, including Vladimir Putin, who are responsible for the peculiar abduction of children from the territories captured by the enemy. And on our part, all this information, these ideas are in the public domain. That is, the enemy is essentially inheriting the methods of Nazi Germany, which boiled down to taking away children, using the occupied territories for their economic interests and other actions.”

    • It is the greatest deception in history. Actual nazis have managed to convince the arseholes that live in their cauldron of devilry that the victims of their naziism are nazis. Not only that, the same foul scum have managed to sell the same lie to the global far left and far right.
Even worse, they have sold the same lie to a substantial percentage; according to polling, the majority of the GOP voter base, that the victim is putler and the criminals are Biden and Zel.
You could not make it up…….

      • Then how do you explain this from Pew?

“Republicans and Democrats are about equally likely to say they view Russia unfavorably (88% vs. 87%), although Democrats are more likely to have very unfavorable opinions of Russia.”

You must be using media propaganda polls again…

        • So you accept Pew? Fine.

          * 36% of Republicans say the U.S. has a responsibility to help Ukraine defend itself. The same percentage said this in July.
          * 65% of Democrats say the U.S. has this responsibility. That is also nearly identical to views in July (when 63% said this).

          * Republicans are far more likely than Democrats to say the United States is providing too much support to Ukraine (42% vs. 13%).
          * Republicans are also far less likely than Democrats to say the U.S. has a responsibility to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s invasion (36% vs. 65%).

Magas read Breitbart, Hateway Pundit, X, aka Z, infowars, Rogan and Carlson. Those outlets hate Ukraine. It is they who followed Trump’s lead and poisoned the well of goodwill that previously existed to Ukraine from GOP supporters. You can see videos on YouTube of maga hat wearing turds parroting their talking points.

            • I gave you a very detailed reply from a trusted source. I never make claims that can’t be supported by indisputable facts. Unlike you, who lives in a self-imposed fantasy world in which Trumpkov never sneers at Ukraine, never glorifies the nazi dwarf and never hires Ukraine-hating neo-nazis for top jobs.
Ukraine is in very terrible danger, innocent people are being murdered and all you can do is make deranged comments to anyone who doesn’t worship russia-loving Trumpkov.

        • Sir Scradge wrote, “that the victim is putler and the criminals are Biden and Zel.”

So I think what’s relevant is not people’s attitude to russia, but who they’re more in favor of – russia or Ukraine.

The quote you gave was from Chapter 4 of that Pew report, while the first page of the report says:

          • There is no public consensus on whether supporting Ukraine is in America’s national interests: 36% say it helps U.S. national security, 36% say it hurts and 24% believe it has no impact. *Democrats are particularly likely to think it helps, while Republicans are especially likely to say it hurts.*

          • Opinions about Zelenskyy also divide sharply along partisan lines. A 55% majority of Republicans now lack confidence in Zelenskyy to do the right thing in world affairs, up from 48% a year ago. In contrast, 65% of Democrats say they are confident in the Ukrainian leader, although this is down from 71% in 2023.

          https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2024/05/08/growing-partisan-divisions-over-nato-and-ukraine/

Chapter 1 gives “Views of Ukraine” and “Views of U.S. support to Ukraine”; support for Ukraine breaks down across party lines much as in the later Pew poll that Sir Scradge posted in his reply to you.

            • The point I made was that according to the same report that you quoted, Democrats mostly think that helping Ukraine helps U.S. national security, while Republicans mostly think that helping Ukraine harms U.S. national security. And most Democrats are confident in President Zelenskyy, while most Republicans lack confidence that he’d do the right thing.

That’s consistent with Sir Scradge’s observation about the russians selling lies to the majority of the GOP voter base.
