In Yakutia, six people have died after drinking alcohol-containing hand sanitizer. Three more were hospitalized, doctors assess their condition as extremely serious, Interfax reports .
According to the regional Rospotrebnadzor, residents of the Tattinsky district on November 18 purchased a five-liter canister of “Skin antiseptic for hand treatment” in one of the local stores.
Three of them died immediately after drinking the sanitizer, and three more died in the hospital. A criminal case was initiated for causing death by negligence to two or more persons. The remainder of the antiseptic was taken from the store for examination.
