It is noted that this is not the first time that Turkish banks refuse to work with Russia.
Turkish banks in Turkey began to massively refuse Russian companies to make payments to the EU and other countries. Even providing all the necessary documents does not solve the problem.

The Russian publication ” Vedomosti ” writes that European banks from time to time began to refuse to accept payment for goods for Russian businesses through Turkish banks.
At the same time, one of the sources said that during an attempt to pay for the goods through Turkey, the supplier from Bulgaria asked to transfer the money through a “normal” country.Video of the day
It is noted that due to the strengthening of work rules by European banks, financial institutions in Turkey began to refuse transit payments in early September. Even providing the bank with additional documents regarding the supply does not solve the problem.
Igor Koval, a partner of the law firm FTL Advisers, said that there were always 2-3 banks in Turkey that dealt with Russian transfers to other countries, but now there were problems even with them when paying in dollars, euros and yuan.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Turkish banks stop working with Russia. This was the situation at the beginning of the year, when banks of a number of “friendly” countries, in particular Turkey, fearing secondary US sanctions, limited their work with Russian companies.
Soon, transactions gradually resumed. In the summer, problems with payments through Turkey returned.
