Adam Smith, head of the US House Armed Forces Committee, said how many more HIMARS and other multiple launch rocket systems could be provided to Ukraine by the United States and its allies.

It is reported by  Radio Liberty .

He said that the United States is ready to provide Ukraine with “as many HIMARS installations as they can.”

“It’s not certain that we have exactly 50 such launchers in our arsenal. I think now the goal is to reach the number of 25-30 multiple launch rocket launchers. And this will be a combination of HIMARS and several MLRS systems from the UK and other countries. We will try to provide so as many as we can,” Smith said.

The official stressed that 50 or 60 installations would be difficult to assemble and provide.

“We want to reach 25 or 30 and provide as many artillery and missiles as possible for these systems,” Smith explained.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces needed at least 50 effective multiple launch rocket systems , such as the American HIMARS, as soon as possible.

This should suffice if the current methodology that UA forces are using remains as it is. The new systems have been virtually impossible for the cockroaches to destroy, and, in retrospect, UA forces have used them to tremendous effect, destroying high-value targets. Another important point is getting enough ammo for those units. Thus, survivability and ammo supply for these systems are both vital components to lead UA forces to victory.

    • According to Wiki, the US has built 540 of the M142 variant. Surely they won’t miss a 100 of those, better to let them do something useful instead of gathering dust in a warehouse.

      • I totally agree. But, with Biden, we must be glad for the few that he’s giving away.
