In the Odessa region, border guards detained a foreigner with espionage equipment.

According to the press service of the SBGS , the violator – a citizen of Japan – was found by servicemen of the Belgorod-Dniester detachment during a check of a bus traveling to Moldova through the checkpoint “Palanka”.

“During a joint inspection with customs officers, spy equipment was found in the foreigner’s belongings: two pairs of glasses, two pens and a watch with hidden cameras and micro-USB connectors,” the statement said.

The competent authorities have been informed of this fact. The foreigner was not allowed to cross the border, the technical devices were confiscated.
