Previously, the name of the late oppositionist was also recognized as extremism.

In Russia, a photograph of the late opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been recognized as a symbol of extremism. As Novaya Gazeta writes , this decision was made by the Oktyabrsky Court of the city of Murmansk.

“The public display of a photograph of Navalny is propaganda of paraphernalia and a symbol of an extremist organization,” says the court ruling in the administrative case of local resident Marina-Victoria Nagornykh.

As follows from the case materials, the woman posted a photo of Navalny in the thicket of trees near a residential building. This act was recognized by the court as “a public demonstration of the symbols of an extremist organization.” As punishment, the court sent the Russian woman to a temporary detention center for seven days.

It is noteworthy that the woman received a new sentence immediately as soon as she was released after “serving” a similar sentence for publicly displaying the no less “extremist” surname “Navalny” on a poster.

“The surname “Navalny” is contained in the name of the “Navalny Headquarters” movement, which was recognized by the court as extremist and its activities are prohibited,” the court decision says.

          • Of course! It started with Clinton taking away Ukraine’s nukes, and continued with Obumer, handing over blankets and broken Humvees after mafia land stole the Crimea and started the war in Donbas.

  1. Thinking about Navalny is now a crime punishable by a stretch in the gulag. The thought police are now investigating perpetrators.
