In Proletarsk, Rostov Region, they continue to extinguish a fire at the Rosrezerv oil depot for the fifth day. It started on August 18 as a result of a drone attack. On the day of the attack, the region’s governor Vasily Golubev said that air defense forces shot down the drones, but the debris fell on the territory of industrial warehouses, causing diesel fuel to catch fire. In the first hours of extinguishing the fire, drones attacked the oil depot again. As of August 20, the area of the fire was 10 thousand square meters.
According to the latest data, 47 firefighters were injured in the fire at the oil depot, 15 of whom were hospitalized, TASS reported on the morning of August 22, citing medical services. At the same time, the Rostov publication 161.ru writes that, according to information from the regional government, 49 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were injured. At the same time, on August 19 it was reported that 18 rescuers were injured, and on August 21 – 42. 22 fuel tanks caught fire at the oil depot, the Baza Telegram channel reported on August 20. The emergency services told TASS that firefighters extinguished the fire in six fuel tanks on August 22. According to the 161.ru publication, an explosion occurred at the oil depot on the evening of August 21, and flames were seen in the neighboring city of Salsk, located 30 kilometers from Proletarsk. An explosion of a tank at the oil depot was also reported on the evening of August 20.
On August 21, Russian Telegram channels and media outlets published a video of firefighters trying to get away from the fire after one of the tanks exploded at an oil depot. The video was distributed, among others, by the Telegram channels “Eto Rostov” and Astra . It is unclear when the recording was made.

A state of emergency has been declared in Proletarsk due to a fire at an oil depot. The Proletarsky District Administration stated that the spread of the fire does not threaten residential buildings or other facilities. District authorities have begun collecting humanitarian aid for firefighters, in particular, carbonated water, energy drinks, painkillers, syringes, eye drops, and burn remedies. The Volgodonsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church held a prayer service near the oil depot on August 20.
