According to eyewitnesses, the explosions took place near the local airfield.

On the night of December 25, in the Russian Kursk , there was a “pop” near the airfield. Eyewitnesses report several explosions.

According to local Telegram channels, surveillance cameras recorded flashes near the airfield and loud sounds of explosions.

Cameras captured the explosion on video around 4 a.m. In the comments, locals said that the city was “alarming” at night. However, some residents of Kursk began to convince that these were the sounds of a thunderstorm, while others assured that “air defense was working.

Recall that the Khalino airfield is located on the eastern outskirts of Kursk. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, the Russians have closed it to civilian flights. Russian fighter jets are based at the airfield, bombing Ukraine.https://t.me/uniannet/84406?embed=1

“Cotton” at Russian air bases

Over the past few weeks in Russia, surprisingly, unknown drones have been falling on the air bases of the occupiers. There have been several such attacks.

On the night of December 5, the “pop” occurred near Ryazan and  in Engels. According to the Russians, the airfield, which is located at a distance of more than 800 km from Ukraine, was attacked by drones.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already stated that  “they have not started anything” yet . At the same time, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, commenting on  the explosion at the Russian military airfield Engels , stressed that the government of the aggressor country is responsible for what is happening on the territory of Russia.

On December 6, the “cotton” parade continued –  an unknown drone attacked the airfield in Kursk. According to the governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit, as a result of a drone attack, an oil storage tank caught fire. The fire is extinguished.

In addition, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War suggest that   Ukrainian forces staged a  series of explosions at strategic Russian air bases in Engels and near Ryazan .
