The battle is taking place in the village of Malaya Loknya.
Russian soldiers have taken refuge in the building of a women’s penal colony in the Kursk region ; Ukrainian fighters are storming it.

As Bild writes in Russian , we are talking about penal colony No. 11 in the village of Malaya Loknya, which is 14 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. According to “war correspondents”, the settlement is almost completely surrounded, but the Russians are still holding the defense on the territory of the penal colony.
The Russian military has turned the building into a “fortress” – several dozen people have dug in around it, erected barricades and are using watchtowers as firing positions. The prison guards could also be involved in the defense. It is known that the facility may hold more than 200 women who were sentenced to 10-20 years of imprisonment.
Ukrainian fighters are reportedly firing at Russian forces from Marder infantry fighting vehicles and attacking a watchtower with drones.
Fighting in Kursk region
As is known, the Ukrainian offensive on Russian territory began on August 6. Since then, the military has managed to take control of a significant territory of the Russian Federation, as well as replenish the exchange fund with a large number of military personnel.
Yesterday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, reported to President Volodymyr Zelensky that they had managed to take control of another settlement in Kursk region .
