OMON fighters detained demonstrators on the 92nd day of protests in Khabarovsk in support of the former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal .
According to DVhab.ru, 25 people were detained. The representative of the Khabarovsk headquarters of Alexei Navalny, Andrei Pastukhov, told Interfax that the police detained about 40 people, including the coordinator of the Khabarovsk headquarters, Alexei Vorsin. The Khabarovsk mayor’s office says about 30 detainees. OVD-Info writes that there are at least two journalists among the detained.

The protest action, uncoordinated with the authorities, began at about noon (at five in the morning Moscow time) on Lenin Square near the building of the regional government. The mayor’s office of Khabarovsk estimated the number of participants at 500 people, representatives of the opposition at one thousand people, Interfax writes . The protesters chanted slogans in support of Furgal for about half an hour, after which they marched along the carriageway of the central streets of Khabarovsk and returned to the government building.
Riot police began to disperse the protesters after the demonstrators began to erect tents outside the regional government building. The police first demanded to remove the tents and, if they refused, threatened to use force. A few minutes later, riot policemen left the government building and started arresting them.
Several people were injured during the dispersal of the rally. One woman fell to the ground, according to unconfirmed reports , she had a head injury. Another man had his nose broken. Riot policemen beat the owner of “Furgalomobil” Andrey Maklygin with truncheons on the head. Two of the detained teenagers informed Navalny’s headquarters about the beatings and torture: they were “put on their knees in a corner, mocked, twisted their arms, hit in the eye.” DVhab.ru calls the incident the toughest crackdown on rallies in Khabarovsk.
