A resident of Hamburg brought flowers to a spontaneous memorial on the day of the oppositionist’s funeral.

In Germany , a Russian consulate employee attacked a local resident when she wanted to lay flowers at a spontaneous memorial in memory of Alexei Navalny.

The incident occurred in the city of Hamburg on March 1, the day of Navalny’s funeral in Moscow. However, it became known only after the victim told the No Future telegram channel about the incident , and major Russian opposition media drew attention to its publication.

The victim turned out to be a Russian woman, Natalya Freudenberg, who permanently lives in Hamburg. According to the woman, on the day of Navalny’s funeral, she came to lay flowers in front of the building of the former Russian Consulate, which officially closed at the beginning of the year, but the staff remains there. After the woman attached a portrait of Navalny and lit a candle, a man in a work uniform and with a large garbage bag came out of the consulate. He began to remove the flowers and destroy the memorial.

“I asked what he was doing with the flowers and said that it was in memory of Navalny, a man who fought for the country and for freedom,” Natalya said.

According to the woman, she tried to take the package from the man where he had put flowers – a scuffle ensued. As a result, Natalya received minor injuries.

“He raises his hand with the package that I’m holding on to, and then sharply lowers it down so that I fall and scream in pain. He dragged me along the asphalt. I have injuries from the impact, bruises on my knee, abrasions on my elbow, arm, hand And, obviously, I hit my head, because my head hurt for quite a long time,” the woman recalls.

After the confrontation, the consulate officer disappeared behind the gate and threw the bag of flowers into a trash container. The victim contacted the police and documented her injuries.
