In Fryazino, near Moscow, the building of the Platan Research Institute caught fire. There are people inside

A fire broke out on the territory of the Platan research institute in the town of Fryazino near Moscow, RIA Novosti reports , citing emergency services.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry for the Moscow Region clarified to TASS that the fire occurred at the address: Zavodskoy proezd, building 2. “When the first fire and rescue unit arrived, there was heavy smoke on the fifth floor of the eight-story building. Fire departments organized the rescue of people on the upper floors. Forces and means are attracted at a higher, third rank,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

The Telegram channel “Caution, Moscow” published a video of a burning building. On one of the floors where the fire occurred, people are looking out of the windows. According  to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, nine people may be in the burning building. One person was saved.

Attention, there is swearing in the video.

According to  the Baza telegram channel, the fire started on the 5th-6th floors, in the offices of the planning and design building. What caused the fire is not specified.

The Platan Research Institute is engaged in the production of electronic parts and radio components.

  1. Very strange indeed. This reminds me of the 911 attacks on the twin towers , only those people were jumping out the windows 30-40 floors high. Gruesome way to die, either you burned to death or jump.

  2. Update. Two people died in a fire in Fryazino, said the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov. Three others, including two firefighters, were injured . The Baza Telegram channel claims that at least one of the dead jumped from a smoke-filled building. Local authorities and the Ministry of Emergency Situations did not comment on this message.

  3. At least 8 people are now dead according to the authorities, and of course a criminal case has been opened. Surprisingly they haven’t blamed Ukraine yet.
