In Berlin, a 29-year-old Afghan citizen who has lived in Germany since 2016 attacked two people with a knife – a 58-year-old gardener in a local park and a 66-year-old bystander.

This was reported by the Express  with reference to the information of German law enforcement officers.

Police say an Afghan citizen attacked the gardener because he believes a woman should not do such work. A bystander was injured after rushing to the woman’s aid.

Both victims were seriously injured and hospitalized.

Berlin police said the attacker may have mental health problems. In addition, law enforcement is studying the option of religious motivation to commit this crime.
