The project of former Belarusian security officials BYPOL has published an audio recording , which allegedly contains the voice of Nikolai Karpenkov. This is the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus – the commander of the internal troops. Until mid-November, he  headed the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption (GUBOPiK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a unit that actively participated in the suppression of protests in Belarus.

The recording, as follows from its content, was made on October 30. BYPOL claims that Karpenkov spoke at a farewell meeting with the personnel of GUBOPiK. The speech mentioned, in particular, a meeting with Alyaksandr Lukashenka on the suppression of protests and the death of Alyaksandr Taraykovsky  , the first protester to die. Poor quality recording, BYPOL provided captions. Medusa quotes from it (with abbreviations).
