Important quote from Garry Kasparov, plus some responses

Anne Applebaum restacks:

I will keep repeating this until the war ends

Garry Kasparov

The only way Russian aggression doesn’t happen again is if it’s defeated in Ukraine. Putin has turned Russia into a war economy and cannot and will not reverse it. The only cure is losing militarily in Ukraine…

Can everyone stop pretending Putin wants peace? He doesn’t want to end the war, he wants to end Ukraine.

What a piece of shit. Crimea was taken by Russia “without a shot being fired” because Ukraine was in the midst of a revolution, removing the Russian puppet regime, and was caught off-guard. Russia used this moment of weakness to treacherously poach Crimea – what Russians always do. Shortly after Ukraine recovered, and that’s why Russia couldn’t take Donbas as easily.

This guy needs to be put in front of a tribunal, together with his Russian buddies.

It is the Russian state that should make Tatar, Bashkir, Chechen, Kalmyk, Chuvash etc., as official languages in Russia.

The only real security guarantee is your own nuclear weapons. Now that the Budapest Memorandum is moot (since 2014), Ukraine has the full moral right to have its own nuclear weapons again.

Yes. This is the only solution.

“The only real security guarantee for Ukraine is a strong Ukrainian army with weapons that can wreck the Russian economy and holding fortified terrain — like northern Donetsk. It’s naive to think that the U.S. and Europe that are too fearful to shoot down Russian missiles and drones over Ukraine today will go to war against Russia for Ukraine tomorrow,” Yaroslav Trofimov, Chief Foreign-Affairs Correspondent of The Wall Street Journal.
