The IMF Executive Board will meet on March 9 to consider a proposal to provide emergency financing to Ukraine. We are talking about 1.4 billion dollars.

The Fund’s Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, said that such assistance is intended to make the shock to the Ukrainian economy less severe, according to the IMF website .

According to her, the IMF has changed the focus of negotiations with the Ukrainian authorities in the framework of the current cooperation on reforms to crisis management.

“IMF staff are in daily contact with key officials from Ukraine. It is so amazing to see how they work together with dedication and professionalism, despite the sirens that can be heard even during discussions. Today we must help Ukraine overcome this shock, but for her there will come a moment of recovery,” said Georgieva.

According to her, the IMF is helping Ukraine mobilize financial support and resources.
