Trump and his supporters have repeated this phrase hundreds of times. Sadly, they still repeat it today, even though reality has already proven what would have happened.

If you want to know how Trump would have acted when russia attacked Ukraine in 2022, just look at what he is doing now: nothing.

Trump would not have given Ukraine weapons. He would not have shared intelligence. He would not have supported UN resolutions. And most likely, he would not even have allowed the U4U refugee program.

Since returning to office, Trump has been nothing short of a catastrophe for Ukraine — and a gift to Putin. Just look at the record:
• Called Putin “a genius” and “a good friend” even as russian troops slaughtered civilians in 2022.
• Tried to reward the invader by urging russia’s return to the G7.
• Refused to even call russia the aggressor — despite mass atrocities, massacres, and illegal annexations.
• Cut off congressionally approved military aid mid-war.
• Blocked new arms deliveries, leaving Ukraine without air defense and ammunition.
• Halted intelligence sharing, opening the door for russian advances.
• Blamed Ukraine for “starting the war.”
• Suggested letting russia and Ukraine “fight for a while” — treating human lives as bargaining chips.
• Refused to impose new sanctions even as russia escalated strikes in 2025.
• Threatened sanctions on Ukraine instead — for daring to resist.
• Installed a Director of National Intelligence who spread russian propaganda on Kremlin-linked media.
• Disbanded the U.S. task force created to pressure russia into serious negotiations.
• Praised Orbán and other Putin-aligned strongmen, undermining NATO unity.
• Attacked allies for “giving too much” to Ukraine — while giving nothing himself.
• Claimed he could “end the war in 24 hours” — and did nothing.
• Oversaw russia capturing more Ukrainian land in a few months than in all of 2024.
• Brought a war criminal, Putin, onto U.S. soil — praising him and legitimizing his genocide.

Now imagine what would have happened if Trump had been president when russia first attacked Ukraine. Not only would he have done nothing — he would have forced Ukraine into immediate capitulation.

As a conservative, this is the main thing I disagree with Trump on. His actions will always be more telling than his empty words.

One of the real problems is that Trump thinks Putin is his friend. Putin has, and will continue to, play him like a fiddle.

I agree with you 100% and all the evidence you’ve stated proves that Putin has something on Trump. Also, I believe that Trump in his meeting alone with Putin gave him the green light. You can even point back to when Trump wanted Ukraine to produce some dirt on Biden to help him win the election, that he has a part in starting the war. Perhaps one day the truth about Lying Trump will be exposed.

I am convinced that spymaster Putin has Epstein files, Miss Universe Moscow 2015 tapes and likely copies of files that were taken to Mara Lago. He is running him, and when he is of no further use and it can do the most damage to the west, we will see it.

Roman Sheremeta You are being rational and reasonable. MAGA crowd do not care about those things. They don’t need rationality because it gets in the way of their objectives. Facts do not matter. Justice is the last thing on their mind. Justice for who? There can only be justice for themselves, not others.

MAGA is an one sided biased point of view without added burden of proof, evidence or facts. They think this will benefit them, that’s why they are doing it. Whatever justification, lie or made up claim is to benefit them at the expense of other. Trump is promising this to them. Whatever Trump says, must be true because it will benefit them.

Not only does he endanger lives, this ‘famous dealmaker’ allows his handlers to destroy an American factory in Ukraine 🇺🇦 which is proof he failed the American people as well!
