Russia has placed Conor Kennedy, the son of US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., on its wanted list and ordered his arrest in absentia after he volunteered to fight for Ukraine in 2022.
A Moscow court authorized the arrest after Kennedy was charged with acting as a mercenary for Ukraine’s armed forces, Russian state news agency TASS reported last Wednesday.
TASS said Kennedy’s defense appealed the arrest order, but an appeals court upheld the ruling in a closed hearing.
Kennedy, who is also the great-nephew of former US President John F. Kennedy, faces seven to 10 years in prison under Russian law if convicted.
The 32-year-old publicly disclosed in October 2022 that he had secretly traveled to Ukraine and joined the country’s International Legion after Russia launched its full-scale invasion.
“Like many people, I was deeply moved by what I saw happening in Ukraine,” he wrote on Instagram, adding: “I wanted to help.”

‘Bravest people I have ever known’
He said he had no previous military experience and was not a skilled marksman, but learned quickly and was eventually sent to the northeastern front.
“I was also willing to die there,” Kennedy wrote.
Kennedy described his time in Ukraine as brief and called the people he served alongside “the bravest I have ever known.”
“This war will shape the fate of democracy in this century,” he wrote, urging others to support Ukraine.
Ukraine created the International Legion shortly after Russia’s 2022 invasion to allow foreign volunteers to serve in its armed forces.
Moscow has disputed the status of such fighters and has accused some foreign volunteers of acting as mercenaries.

The Kennedy family is still capable of surprise. Joe Kennedy was a Hitler/IRA groupie who made his money from bootlegging. Yet his son JFK served his country in WW2 and kept his end up well against the USSR; a formidable nuclear power. His life was likely taken on the latter’s orders.

His mother committed suicide due to Brainworm’s behaviour, so I’d guess he doesn’t like his father much. His courageous decision to support Ukraine goes against the insane beliefs of his mentally sick father.

I assume that you’re referring to the fact that users without privileges on this site can’t post things containing the letters b-e-r-t all run together, and not your confusion about RFK Jr. and John F. Kennedy.
I’m not imagining anything – this has been confirmed by others. You could go look for the “binned” post, or you could set up a secondary account with no privileges and verify it for yourself.
