“I hope Ukraine will lose”: MEPs caught collaborating with Russian propaganda

At least 16 members of the European Parliament gave comments to the pro-Russian publication Voice of Europe, created by Viktor Medvedchuk.

At least 16 members of the European Parliament collaborated with Russian propaganda and voiced narratives convenient for the Kremlin. Politico writes about this after analyzing 50 videos on the Voice of Europe YouTube channel.

Voice of Europe is an English-language news agency that Czech and Belgian authorities in March described as a front for Russian propaganda and disinformation. Czech authorities have imposed sanctions on two Voice of Europe leaders, one of whom is a longtime friend of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, former Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk.

“If this is a war of civilizations, I hope that civilization in Ukraine will lose. The best way to achieve peace is to make the Ukrainians surrender,” Marcel de Graaff, a Dutch far-right lawmaker, said at a studio debate hosted by the Voice of Europe.

Another far-right politician, Maximilian Krah of Germany, insisted during the debate that “Ukraine should become a demilitarized buffer zone.”

Thierry Mariani of France’s National Rally accused the EU of provoking Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by signing a trade agreement with Ukraine in 2014. “Some countries simply want to destroy Russia, which, firstly, is impossible and not in the interests of our countries,” Mariani said.

As Politico notes, all the European parliamentarians who appeared on the Voice of Europe belonged to far-right parties. In the channel’s comments, these politicians rejected the prospect of Ukraine joining the EU, accused Ukraine of starting the war, talked about the level of corruption in Ukraine, demanded immediate peace negotiations, and opposed arms supplies to Ukraine.

Currently, YouTube has removed almost all videos from the Voice of Europe channel due to manipulative content. However, the account on platform X is still working. The English-language website Voice of Europe also operates, where almost all materials in one way or another relate to the Russian-Ukrainian war.

  1. Marcel de Graaff, Maximilian Krah, Thierry Mariani: putinoid plankton.
The only question is whether their poisonous hatred of Ukraine is financial or ideological.
Same goes for Fucker Karlsonov and Gospodina MTG.
The least that should happen to these sick ghouls is that their homes and assets should be seized and sent to Ukraine.
Although having seen the latest MTG-Carlson video, it would also be appropriate if they were put in a Supermax for dangerous psychotics.
