I have seen too much evil…

In the past two and a half years I have seen too many pictures of crippled children, mutilated dead bodies, parents crying on the graves of their children, and small kids hugging the gravestones of their fathers. I have seen tortures committed by russians in Ukraine. I have seen prisoners starved to bones in russian prisons.

I have seen so much evil committed by russians that I have become desensitized. When I see russians castrating or decapitating a Ukrainian soldier, I am no longer shocked or even surprised, because it’s a normal thing for the russian army and society to do.

Russia is a terrorist and a serial killer, with millions of russians directly involved in these crimes – army, police, FSB, weapon factories, subcontractors of the Ministry of Defense – and tens of millions indirectly involved by paying taxes, doing business as usual, and just simply being “neutral.”

But there is no neutrality in the face of evil. I hold each person claiming to be neutral regarding the russian war and genocide against Ukrainian people, responsible for the evil committed by russians. History will judge you; God will judge you.

To end, I want to quote some people who understood very well that there is no neutrality in the face of evil.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil; God will not hold us guiltless. To not speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”

Elie Wiesel: “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”

Dante Alighieri (paraphrased): “The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality.”

This is why the russian athletes should not be allowed at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Meet Elena Vesnina, a russian tennis player from russia who is set to compete in Paris Olympics. Vesnina is one of 15 “good russian” athletes who have been invited to Paris.

Yet in March 2022, Vesnina through her verified Instagram account “liked” a post by russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, which hailed the “heroism” of three russian soldiers for fighting in Ukraine. In the post, Solovyov referred to Ukrainians as Nazis.

Vesnina also “liked” a March 2022 post showing a picture of russian gymnast Ivan Kuliak, who wore a russian swastica “Z” as he stood next to a Ukrainian gymnast.

Overall, the International Olympic Committee has admitted 15 russian athletes to the 2024 Paris Olympics. The invitations were based on “strict rules” outlined by the IOC that forbid military employment and public expressions of support for the war.

Nevertheless, an investigation done by the human rights foundation Global Rights Compliance, showed that 10 of the 15 russian athletes have been openly pro-military, either on social media or through groups they are affiliated with.

While Ukrainian athletes are killed by russians, russian athletes are rewarded by the IOC.

The occupation russian authorities of Luhansk ordered the demolition of the monument to the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-33.

The Holodomor was an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people, organized by the Soviet Union in 1932-1933 by creating an artificial mass famine.

The genocide took millions of Ukrainian lives. No one knows the exact number of victims. It is one of the most darkest and horrific crimes against Ukraine.

Artificial famine was not the first tool of russians to commit genocide in Ukraine. Russia has been systematically commiting genocide and ethnic cleansing in Ukraine for centuries. Leadership has changed but the mindset has been the same.

Russia continues to “liberate” Ukraine.

The powerlifting champion of Ukraine and Europe Andriy Mazanovych died defending Ukraine from russians. He will not be able to participate in 2024 Paris Olympics because russians killed him.

Yet, the International Olympic Committee has admitted 15 russian athletes to the Paris Olympics. While Ukrainian athletes are killed by russians, russian athletes are rewarded by the IOC.

Don’t even try telling me that these are different russians and that they are not accountable for the actions of their government. No, they are accountable for their silence, complacency and inaction. Moreover, most of them actually support their government and genocide against Ukrainian people.

1. Sport and government are inseparable in russia. Sport is financed by the state. Olympic medalists are paid by the russian authorities.
2. Russian athletes are members of the russian military. Despite the “neutral” flag at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, russian military athletes won 14 out of 32 medals. The same military servicemen who kill Ukrainians at this very moment.
3. Most russian athletes support the war and the russian regime. These athletes can be found standing side by side with Putin at every major event, giving patriotic speeches, and proudly wearing the “Z” sign.
4. Russia uses sport to spread its propaganda. Even if the russian athlete wins the Olympics under a white flag, the russian state will use it as a propaganda for its imperialistic purposes.
5. Ukrainian athletes must be protected. Hundreds of them were killed by russians, dozens lost their limbs and will never be able to compete in the Olympics. And those athletes that have survived and can compete in the Olympics are severely handicapped because hundred of sports facilities in Ukraine have been destroyed by the russian military.
