US President Donald Trump said that a final decision on his possible meeting with russian leader vladimir putin has not yet been made.

He said this during a press conference at the White House, answering journalists’ questions about the report on the suspension of preparations for the meeting in Budapest.

“No, no, I don’t want to waste time on the meeting, I don’t want to waste time, so I’ll see what happens next… I said: ‘Go to the line, go to the battle line, to the front line, retreat and go home, and everyone take a vacation,’ because you have two countries that are killing each other,” Trump said.

The American President added that he had not yet decided and wanted to see “what happens.”

“I didn’t say it would be [a waste of time]. You never know what could happen. There’s a lot going on on that front. We’ll let you know in the next two days,” Trump explained.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 16, US President Trump said he had a phone call with putin. He and the russian dictator agreed to meet in Budapest.

The Kremlin also confirmed the Trump-putin meeting and said it could take place within two weeks.

Some EU leaders want to participate in the US-russia meeting in Budapest, as well as secure a seat at the negotiating table for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Meanwhile, a planned meeting between US Secretary of State Mark Rubio and russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, which was scheduled to take place this week, has been postponed indefinitely.

According to media reports, planning for a meeting between US President Donald Trump and vladimir putin is currently on hold.
