The stoppage of diesel fuel supplies was a consequence of the cessation of Russian oil transit.

Hungary has stopped exporting diesel fuel to Ukraine and does not plan to resume it until the supply of oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline is restored. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated this during his speech.

According to him, the stoppage of diesel fuel supplies was a direct consequence of the cessation of Russian oil transit.

“Diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine will not resume until the Ukrainians resume transporting crude oil through the Druzhba pipeline,” the Hungarian diplomat said.

At the same time, Szijjártó noted that Hungary played an important role in providing Ukraine with energy resources, including gas, electricity, and diesel fuel. That is why he called the decision to stop diesel exports a response to the situation with oil transit.

The minister added that Hungary has “ensured its own energy security.” The country has reserves for more than three months and is working on alternative oil supply routes, including maritime ones.

“Hungary and Slovakia are also using the opportunity provided by the European Union’s decision, according to which both Hungary and Slovakia can import Russian crude oil by sea until the restoration of pipeline transport,” Szijjártó added.

According to him, a new logistics route is currently being built, and the first volumes of oil purchased for sea transportation could arrive in Hungary by mid-March.

  1. The pipeline was damaged by mafia land in one of their recent attacks. Let mafia land come to Ukraine and fix it.
