The Hungarian side does not prevent the launch of a training mission for Ukrainian fighters, the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry said.
The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijjarto , said that he did not vote for the creation of an EU training mission for the Ukrainian military.
The Hungarian side used the option of a constructive stay – it does not prevent the launch of such a mission, but does not take part in it, the official said after a meeting of the heads of the EU foreign ministries, Blikk reports .
Szijjarto noted that Hungary will not spend money on a training mission for the defenders of Ukraine and will not accommodate its participants.
“Hungary also did not vote for this proposal, we used the option of a constructive stay, that is, we do not prevent the launch of such a mission, but do not take part in it …”, the minister explained.
According to him, because of the training mission, there is a risk of drawing Europe into the war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
