Hungary election results: Magyar adds 110 seats and Orbán falls to 71 with 6.56% counted

The provisional count of the elections in Hungary places Tisza, Péter Magyar’s party, with 110 seats against Fidesz-KDNP’s 71, Viktor Orbán’s coalition, with 6.56% of the votes processed. Mi Hazánk appears in third place with 9 deputies

First upset in the count of the elections in Hungary. With 6.56% of the vote count processed, Tisza gets 110 seats in Parliament, ahead of Fidesz-KDNP, which stays at 71. Mi Hazánk adds for now 9 deputies.

In a Chamber of 199 seats, the absolute majority is at 100 deputies and the two-thirds supermajority at 133. With these provisional data, Tisza exceeds the absolute majority, although it is still 23 seats short of the supermajority.

  1. Okay, I have no idea how the Hungarian election system works, but this sounds positive. We might find out tomorrow for sure after all the votes have been counted.

    • I’ve been following the elections on Hungarian M1 and by my count, the numbers are even worse for Orban than you’ve reported.
      At this time, the ballots are about half counted, so we have an idea of what’s going on. In my estimate, the pre-election polls were very good. By M1’s reporting the race is currently 52 – 40. Orban should be loading his plane with gold bars about now…

        I searched the net for the latest election results and in different languages. This one was the most recent and the most relevant.
