“Hungarians will soon kick Orban out”

Oct 31, 2025

When Viktor Orbán says “Russia wants peace” and “Europe wants war”, he’s not just spreading Kremlin propaganda — he’s betraying the very alliances Hungary belongs to.
He denies reality, forgets who the invader is, and accuses those defending democracy. That’s not leadership. That’s submission.
Hungary deserves far better. And Hungarians will soon kick Orbán out — the way he deserves: with a good, solid boot.

It’s now official: the pro-European, centrist and liberal forces have won in the Netherlands. The definitive results confirm it – polarised extremes are shrinking. The strong result of D66 led by Rob Jetten is a powerful boost for progressive, European values. The return to Parliament of 50PLUS – a centrist party and proud EDP member – is another welcome sign. As European Democrats, we celebrate this momentum. Welcome back, Netherlands, at the helm of the Europe you helped build.

The request by Georgia Dream to ban three main opposition parties is a devastating step away from democratic standards. As European Democrats, we are deeply concerned by the authoritarian drift in Georgia — a country whose people have long expressed their commitment to democratic values and European integration.
The courage of Georgian citizens who continue to protest in the streets is admirable. But the flame of democracy is flickering. This move aligns Georgia more with Belarus than with Europe. The EU cannot ignore such a blatant attack on pluralism and the rule of law.

Elon Musk is not just expressing personal opinions. From supporting the far-right AfD in Germany to claiming that civil war is “inevitable” in the UK, he is actively meddling in European democracies — using a platform he owns, X, to amplify extremism, disinformation, and hate.
He can believe what he wants. But it’s unacceptable for a foreign billionaire to interfere in our democratic space, fuelling radicalisation and polarisation.
It’s been almost two years since the European Commission opened proceedings against X under the Digital Services Act. What is the Commission waiting for?

They are thousands. Hundreds of thousands. They are students, workers, mothers, sons. They are citizens who believe Serbia’s future must not be hijacked by fear, lies and impunity. Marching across the country to Novi Sad, they are reclaiming memory, truth and justice. One year after the canopy collapse, still no responsibility, still no justice. They march for democracy. They march for dignity. And we march with them.
As European Democrats, we will never stand aside when freedom is under attack.
