More than 1.1 million citizens participated in the survey.
The Hungarian opposition party “Tisa” conducted an alternative survey on citizens’ attitudes towards Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
According to KárpátHÍR , over 1.1 million Hungarians took part in the survey called “Voice of the Nation”. Among the issues related to the country’s domestic and foreign policy was also the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

Party leader Peter Magyar promised that the poll results would become the “cornerstone” of their government if they win the 2026 elections. In addition, in that case, he would initiate a referendum on supporting Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
58.18% of survey participants supported Ukraine’s accession to the EU, while 98.68% said that Hungary should remain a member of the European Union and NATO.
Poll on Ukraine’s accession to the EU
As a reminder, Hungary previously announced plans to conduct a national survey on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
The initiative was announced by Prime Minister Viktor Orban in March after a summit of EU leaders in Brussels. The survey is due to take place by early summer 2025 and will be conducted in the format of a “national consultation.”
