Also, Ukrainian companies and ordinary citizens actively helped during the analysis of debris at the site of the Russian missile attack on the capital’s children’s hospital.

On the morning of July 8, 2024, Russia launched a barbaric missile attack on peaceful Ukrainian cities, as a result of which more than 40 people died. In particular, in Kyiv, the largest children’s medical institution in Europe – the national specialized children’s hospital “Okhmatdit” – was hit, where at the time of the rocket attack there were more than six hundred small patients . 

Immediately after the attack, the people of Kyiv rushed to the hospital to help clear the debris and bring everything necessary for the victims: medicine, clothes, food and water. At the same time, several large gatherings were launched in Ukraine to help “Okhmatdyt”, the first results of which once again showed the unity of Ukrainians and their ability to consolidate for the sake of helping others in difficult times.

According to the data of monobank, UNITED24 and other statements about direct donations, Ukrainian businesses and concerned citizens collected hundreds of millions of hryvnias for the reconstruction of the buildings of the Okhmatdit children’s clinic destroyed by Russian missiles and for the purchase of modern equipment in just one day.

In particular, UAH 280 million was collected within 28 hours within the collection of monobank and UNITED24. Both ordinary Ukrainians and big businesses joined the gathering. Thus, the IT company Grammarly and “ATB” transferred UAH 20 million each, “AVT Bavaria” – UAH 10 million, the Aurora multimarket chain, monobank and the group of companies “Avtostrada” – UAH 5 million each, and Uber and the IT group of Netpeak Group companies donated UAH 2 million each.

In addition, dozens of large Ukrainian companies made individual donations in favor of “Okhmatdyt” – the largest donations in the amount of UAH 10 million so far came from “Kyivstar”, Favbet, Kernel and OKKO, which they gave directly to the hospital and affiliated charitable funds. Another 5 million hryvnias were allocated to help the hospital by the ICU investment group, Ukrnafta and GSC Game World, 4 million hryvnias came from Kyiv City Center, and 3 million hryvnias were transferred by “PrivatBank”.

Individual business representatives, in addition to financial assistance, provided “Okhmatdyt” with other support. In particular, the chain of construction stores “Dnipro-M” provided volunteers with tools, hypermarkets “Epicenter K” provided machinery for dismantling debris, and supermarket chains “ATB”, “Silpo”, “Novus”, “Ashan”, “Varus” and “Kolo” ” promptly delivered food and water to the scene of the terrorist attack. Drinking water for the needs of the hospital was also provided by leading manufacturers, in particular, “Myrhorodska”, VODA UA and others.

We will remind you that on June 8, 2024, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out another massive missile attack on Ukraine – one of the largest since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022. Ukrainian cities such as Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk were hit by attacks during which Russian terrorists used about 40 missiles of all possible types, including “Kinjal” and “Zirkon”.

As of the morning of July 10, it is known about more than 40 dead and almost 200 wounded as a result of this attack throughout Ukraine. A large number of people are currently in hospitals, including in serious condition.

The biggest children’s hospital of Ukraine – Kyiv’s “Okhmatdyt” – also suffered great destruction due to the enemy attack. The rockets completely destroyed the building of the toxicology department, and also seriously damaged four others, including the new building of the hospital, which was opened in 2021. During the attack on the hospital, two people were killed, 32 wounded sought medical help, and eight children were hospitalized with injuries. Experts unanimously claim that the Russians purposefully hit the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital .
