Putin needed more useful idiots than were available on the left, so he went hunting by telling them the sort of lies they easily buy. Anyone paying attention knows that no one can “ally” themselves with Putin unless he is calling the tune, and Putin is no Christian.
It’s sad to see that despite being in the 21st century, stupid is still rampant on this globe.
Tankies and appeasers to not represent the general “left” in the west. The left does have a cadre that is antiwar no matter what the cost. The overwhelming majority of left leaning people understand that Ukraine faces an existential threat, and that the country and democracy cannot survive without military ejection of Russia, and western financial backing.
