In the West we are still decolonizing and de-imperializing our perspectives on Ukraine. Because we’ve taken in and internalized russia’s imperial narrative for decades.

 📣 “To a large degree the Russians have been able to control the strategic discourse, setting up for us new rules in war, which have never existed before. Like for example, that when you invade another country, the entire war should take place on the territory of the country that was invaded… it’s completely absurd and yet somehow it’s accepted in the United States as normal.”

“The Russians are going to negotiate peace when they believe they are losing. And so, if anyone is serious about negotiation, that person should be trying to get Russians into a position where they think they might be losing,” says Prof. Timothy Snyder.

Professor Snyder is one of the foremost experts of his field. When he speaks, we should listen. And his book The Road to Unfreedom is an amazing read.

Putin seems happy about his people dying in scores on Ukrainian soil but seems to have a new sense of panic when there’s a chance of more military and infrastructure being disabled in Russia. Could It be he doesn’t care about his citizens or doesn’t like it to be on the doorstep where it is harder for state media to hide what is happening with regards to their “special military operation”? Both is the more likely.

Russia brought war to Ukraine,
So war must now come to Russia

Only when russians themselves experience and feel the consequences of the war waged in their name, will the majority consider protesting against it.

That initiative won’t come from russians abroad, who are “against the war” but also “don’t want russia to lose”

And it certainly won’t come from Putin’s minions abroad.

Always baffled by those who stubbornly refuse to see it.

“The paradox is that the more weapons for Ukraine we are able to deliver, the more likely it is that we can reach a peace [solution],”

Since Moscow will 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 seriously negotiate as long as they think victory or at least dragging out the conflict is possible.

Putin can only be forced to the negotiating table when losing, badly.

💔 Russia blew up a nursing home in #Ukraine
While distracting the west with #propaganda films, ‘ordinary Russians’ 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 a nursing home today.

A nursing home.

It housed 221 elderly and 𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐤. One person 𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐝, 9 more are in hospital.

The facility housed the bedridden, who were urgently evacuated. Medical personnel are providing immediate care to the 𝐢𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 right on the street.

❗️ Russia 𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐬 children’s hospitals, nursing homes, maternity hospitals. Nothing is beyond limits for them. Nothing is sacred.

However, Russian #military aircraft are STILL safe deep inside Russia due to western “red lines” while old, young and unborn Ukrainians 𝐝𝐢𝐞 from russian strikes.

But surely trolls will argue that it’s all Putin or NATO’s fault that russians 𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛 hospitals regularly.

🚀 Sending guided 𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐬 into a nursing home full of elderly people will be barely be news.

Because Putin knew he just had to wait for the West to be distracted by a new Phone release or the next Instagram scroll, to face no resistance committing 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 in the largest country in #Europe

Rinse and repeat with Moldova, Estonia, Latvia…on and on.

Because russia will not stop.
Until russia is stopped.
