Ukraine are set to kick off their first Euro 2020 match with a clash against Holland at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam tonight at 9pm CET.
Ukraine have a strong and determined team, willing to nail down Holland tonight.
I wish them and our Danish team luck and fun during this tournament. BTW, Denmark’s Christian Eriksen is out of danger now, after he almost died on the pitch yesterday.
Ukraine won both of their warm-up friendlies against Northern Ireland and Cyprus without conceding a goal.
Andriy Shevchenko’s side had not kept a clean sheet in any of their six prior outings, so the former AC Milan striker will be relieved that his defense appear to be building a solid platform ahead of the tournament.
Having impressively topped their qualifying group ahead of Portugal and Serbia, anything short of progressing to the knockout stages for the first time in a European Championship would have to be considered a serious failure given that Group C is widely perceived as the weakest group at this summer’s tournament.
However, Ukraine have certainly not been handed an easy start with a trip to Holland, so avoiding defeat may be seen as a positive step towards their primary aim of reaching the last 16.

Ukraine lost. The ukrainian goalkeeper is to blame. He fucked up totally. In particular after ukraine equalized, this idiot passed the ball to a dutch player instead of just kicking it far away from the goal. I hope Pyatov will replace him permanently.
I agree with you, that play has bothered me since I cringed when it happened. He made some killer saves earlier though. Way too many orange jerseys in the box tonight.
