He took part in the occupation of Crimea.
Deputy commander of the 22nd motorized rifle regiment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant Colonel Yevgeny Tikhanovich, was liquidated in the Kursk region .
His death was reported by the Russian public page “First City Sayanogorsk”. The message states that the 41-year-old Russian serviceman “gave his life defending the residents of the Kursk region”:
“Served as deputy commander of the 22nd motorized rifle regiment (in the infantry fighting vehicle of the motorized rifle division) of the 44th army corps of the joint strategic command of the Leningrad military district of the motorized rifle regiment of the guards separate motorized rifle brigade.”
In the published photo, one can see that Tikhanovich had the medal “For the Return of Crimea”, introduced by the Russian Ministry of Defense in March 2014.

He was in charge of the motocycle brigade then. I very much doubt he was defending anything, more likely sending orcs on suicide missions to please the bosses.
