THE HILL

Eight Republicans voted against legislation to revoke normal trade relations with Russia over its invasion of Ukraine in a Thursday vote.
The eight were on the other end of a lopsided 424-8 vote to punish Moscow with the removal of normal trade relations. The legislation would raise tariffs on imports from Russia and Belarus, which has backed Moscow’s bombardment of Ukraine.
It would also give President Biden power to impose even stricter taxes on their goods.
The eight GOP “no” votes were Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Lauren Boebert(Colo.), Thomas Massie (Ky.), Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Dan Bishop (N.C.), Glenn Grothman (Wis.) and Chip Roy(Texas).
All eight Republicans in the House who voted against the anti-war measure have made it a point to stand out in the far-right wing of the GOP and have been holding tight to former President Trump as he plots a potential run for president in 2024.
Greene, in a video posted online, said she couldn’t support the U.S. intervention in the war because Americans have more pressing issues.
“If we truly care about suffering and death on our television screens, we cannot fund more of it by sending money and weaponry to Ukraine to fight a war they cannot possibly win,” she said. “The only effect, more arms and more money from America will be to prolong the war and magnify human suffering.”
She bemoaned the attention that Ukraine has received as the Kremlin’s attacks have escalated.
“All we’re hearing is potential war with Russia over Ukraine,” she said on the House floor. “Ukraine is not a NATO member ally and President Biden had told them we would only be standing with our NATO member allies.”
The vote came just after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a virtual plea to Congress for more assistance, as thousands have died in the ongoing war.
Massie said on Twitter that he thought the legislation granted too much power to the president to sanction other countries.
Gaetz last month expressed frustration over Americans providing financial assistance for the war.
“Why should Americans have to pay the costs for freedom elsewhere when our own leaders won’t stand up for our freedom here?” Gaetz said during the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Fla.

“If we truly care about suffering and death on our television screens, we cannot fund more of it by sending money and weaponry to Ukraine to fight a war they cannot possibly win,” she said. “The only effect, more arms and more money from America will be to prolong the war and magnify human suffering.”
Greene is a truly evil human being.
Some of the conservatives I’ve been listening to on the podcasts say that for the purpose of encouraging putin to back off in the here and now, he has to feel like he’s “getting something” for the invasion. Then after a ceasefire might be successfully negotiated, and russia withdraws, Ukraine should be given huge shipments of weapons with personnel to instruct or train the Ukrainian military for the use of said weapons. America is indeed facing a massive surge of inflated prices in the near future, mostly because of president biden’s stupidity, along with his political party, the democrats and whatever republicans go along with them. Most serious conservatives or Republicans call those political traitors here, RINOs or “Republican In Name Only.” It’s generally the shortsighted policies of whatever they believe the political money and power coming in, that they go along with. Usually the average citizen is forgotten about in messes like that.
There are legitimate internal concerns in the United States, especially with prices and what we waste our taxes on. As well as where the government sends our taxes to other countries, but citizens like myself have no say in that, beyond voting. I must rely on the efforts of serious organizations whose political views generally match mine, like how the Daily Wire stood up in the highest national court, and encouraged them to reject president biden’s vaccine mandate, which would have meant I’d be fired from my job if I refused the vaccine.
I want to see jets and other defenses or indeed, offensive weapons sent to Ukraine, but all I can do is remember this, come time to vote.
I don’t know what the rate of dollars to hryvnia is, but this is an online example of American price inflation, I wish I knew more accurately, how that’s affecting foreign aid sent to Ukraine.
Over the year, the price of a kilogram of bacon has increased by as much as $5.00 US Dollars, or 146.40 UAH hryvnias. I’m not sure exactly how accurate this is, because I don’t have current economic data, but Americans are definitely feeling the pinch for nearly every product in the market, mostly because of idiots like biden, and those who trusted him.
The prices I’m referring to:

Also, an online US Dollar to UAH hryvnia converter tool. You can change it to reflect UAH hryvnia into Dollars as well:

Well, I’d left a comment explaining some of this, and why Americans do have serious problems within the country here, but apparently it was automatically considered spam. I’d pasted in sources for inflated prices, because I think Americans would care more about direct help for Ukraine, if the idiotic politicians hadn’t messed up our economy beforehand.
I also found an online conversion tool for US dollars to Hryvnia, and the other way of UAH to USD.
Well, it’s no surprise and no mystery that every nation has its moronic politicians.
