Help me, please. I paid $1200 for a new laptop with Windows 10 x64.
Everything worked fine for a few days, but now all is crap!
After many updates installed themselves, although i deactivated automatic updates, nothing is working no more! Even when i click the start button nothing happens. Games still work, but metro and most hardware are inaccessible.
Did anybody have a similar problem and has a solution? Thanks in advance!

You can try a system restore, and go back to before the updates installed themselves. Or you can reinstall windows.
Well… these are obvious solutions, but i have plenty of apps installed i paid for, i don’t want to lose them. 😎
I can’t see how re-installing Windows 10, clean or dirty, onto the same machine can possibly invalidate your licenses. You could either contact them to make sure or let the store from where you bought it figure it out.
Is windows frozen, does your keyboard work?
Everything works fine, but when i click the start button nothing happens, can’t access the store no more. When i click the WLAN icon in the task bar it won’t respond. Games, Office and other stuff is still working. I googled it and it seems to be a huge bug in Windows 10. I may wait for a free upgrade to Windows 11 before erasing all my apps and programs. Thanks anyway!
Try this.

Damn, without the Microsoft Store working i can’t upgrade. Seems i have to factory reset my device. 🤔
If you bought the apps through Microsoft store, they will still be there if you have to do a factory reset.
Are you sure? Ever tried yourself?
I have Microsoft Office on my machine. Never had any problems with moving it from one machine to another.
Okay, i will try a factory reset if nothing else helps. Is my Windows still activated then or do i have to activate it again. In WinXP that was a huge pain in the ass.
I never had to reactivate Windows 10 when doing a reset.
Okay. It will recognize the activation through my e-mail i guess, hopefully. Thanks bro, you helped me alot. 👍
I agree with foccusser. Or, you can bring it back where you bought it from and let them figure it out.
When you get a new machine, as soon as you get all of your software installed, the first thing you do is make a restore disk. Then if you have to restore, all your software is installed in the restore.
At this point, if you did not make a restore disk, reloading windows is your only option.
