Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said that Kremlin dictator
Vladimir Putin would “regret” playing with United States President
Donald Trump. He also called Putin a “problem” and a “predator” on
Ukraine and the entire region.
The comments were made on CBS News’ Face the Nation . When asked by a reporter whether “Russian President Putin is playing President Trump,” the South Carolina Republican replied, “I don’t know yet.”
“If Putin plays with Trump, he will regret it,” the politician added.
In his opinion, if Moscow does not accept the proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, Washington should “return to maximum pressure.”
“You can’t solve a problem without talking to the person who created it. And the problem is Putin. He’s a predator on Ukraine and the entire region . I hope Trump can convince Putin to come to the negotiating table, agree to a ceasefire, and find a solution that will be beneficial to both countries and stop the bloodshed,” Graham said in an interview.
As OBOZ.UA reported, Lindsey Graham previously announced that he would submit a new bill on sanctions against Russia . It will concern new restrictions on the banking sector and energy sector of the aggressor state.
“If they don’t agree to a ceasefire and peace talks with the administration, we must impose hellish sanctions against them,” the senator declared
