The head of the Politburo of the terrorist group Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, congratulated Vladimir Putin on his re-election to a fifth term at the “elections” that took place over the weekend .
“Haniyeh, the head of the Politburo of the Hamas movement, sent a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Russian Federation,” says a message posted on the movement’s Telegram channel.
According to Haniyeh, he highly appreciates Russia’s position in supporting the Palestinian people.
“Hamas hopes to strengthen ties of friendship and expand ways of joint cooperation with Russia and wishes the president success in the interests of the Russian people,” the statement said.
Earlier, Putin was congratulated by the presidents of Iran, Egypt, Venezuela, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, as well as Alexander Lukashenko .
