The restoration of Ukraine after the war will take half of Russia’s GDP.

So the presidential adviser on economic issues Oleg Ustenko commented on the information about the damage to Ukraine from the war with the Russian Federation.

“Firstly, you need to understand that $100 billion are approximate calculations made at the very beginning of the war. Now this figure can be several times higher. This figure is calculated as the sum of destroyed infrastructure facilities, lost income from non-use of land and many other factors. These figures reach half of Russia’s GDP,” Ustenko said.

According to him, we are talking about Russia’s GDP, because it will pay for the restoration of our country.

“We will receive these funds from the seized Russian property, the seized reserves of the Central Bank, etc. The recovery fund is filling up, there is an understanding of how to fill it up,” he said.

Ustenko also commented on the decision to nationalize property.

“I don’t think that much can be obtained from this, although this is the right step. The decision of the National Security and Defense Council would be sufficient for the start of nationalization,” the expert said.

Recall, according to Ustenko, to date, infrastructure, buildings and other material assets worth at least $100 billion have been destroyed in Ukraine.

The war caused a complete shutdown of 50% of Ukrainian enterprises, while the other half are working at the limit of their capabilities.
