Damage to a TU-22M3 missile-carrying bomber was recorded as a result of a UAV strike on the “Olenya” airfield in the Murmansk region.

On the night of July 27 and in the morning, as a result of the operation of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, enemy military airfields in the city of Engels in the Saratov region, “Diaghilev” in the Ryazan region, and ” Olenya ” in the Murmansk region were attacked. Also, an oil refinery in Ryazan was hit as a result of an attack by kamikaze drones. 

This was reported to UNIAN by sources in Ukrainian intelligence. According to eyewitnesses, the first explosions on the territory of the Diaghilev military airfield were heard around six in the morning local time. In social networks, they write that they heard the sounds of three explosions. Users also posted a video of drones flying in the direction of the airfield, followed by a picture showing a column of black smoke rising above the airfield.

It is reported that the 43rd center for combat use and retraining of flight personnel is located at the airfield. In particular, Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, Tu-134UBL and Il-78 aircraft are based here, as well as an aircraft repair plant.

“The explosions at the Engels airfield, where the Russian strategic aviation is located, rang out around eight in the morning. Local media say that the Russian air defense forces unsuccessfully tried to shoot down the UAV, but characteristic explosions of “arrivals” were heard.

Due to the impact of an aircraft-type UAV on the “Olenya” airfield in the Murmansk region, damage to the TU-22M3 long-range supersonic bomber-missile carrier was previously recorded. It is noted that the “Olenya” airfield is located about 1,800 km from the Ukrainian border.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that at least 12 kamikaze drones were shot down: in the Kursk, Belgorod, Rostov, Bryansk and Lipetsk regions.

The results of UAV hits on other enemy military objects are currently being clarified.

The “Echo Group” strike drone unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrated how it responds to Russia’s attacks on the civilian population of Ukraine.

“Our advantage remains high resistance to enemy electronic warfare equipment and a range that allows us to reach critical military facilities of the Russian aggressor,” the comment to the video read.
