Graffiti on UN Vehicles in Kyiv Reflects Ukraine’s Feelings Over its Position on Dam Destruction

June 7, 2023

Graffiti appeared on UN vehicles parked in Kyiv that obliterates the “N” to convert the organisation’s logo into the word “Useless” in protest against its stance on the Kakhovka dam destruction.

On Wednesday, June 7, Yosyp Husak from Kyiv affixed placards that converted the UN logo to read “Useless” on cars belonging to the United Nations and its World Health Organization (WHO). He shared the fruits of his work on Twitter:

Husak explained that he did not consider this to be an act of vandalism, but rather an expression of his views on the lack of effectiveness of the UN as an organization. He later announced a fundraising campaign for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, planning to sell the remaining letters from the inscription in his possession.

“I have several letters ‘U’ from ‘Useless’ here. Let’s demonstrate that ‘U’ is more useful than the UN. I’m putting one of the letters up for auction. The highest bidder will receive it along with a printed photo,” Husak commented.

The auction will conclude on Thursday, June 8 at 20:00.

The organization retweeted a message about the Kakhovska HPP disaster a few hours later.

In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that the Russian command issues orders related to the commission of crimes against humanity in the Russian language.

“Russian commanders will have given the order to blow up the Kakhovka Dam in Russian. What a day at the UN to celebrate Russian language! @UnitedNationsRU tweets about cultural diversity, ignoring the biggest catastrophe in Europe in decades caused solely by Russia. Why be silent?” commented Oleg Nikolenko, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  1. UN = Useless nonsense.
Disband the UN. Throw this useless organization out of its New York buildings, sell them and donate the money to Ukraine. Save taxpayers’ money now.

  2. Where is Greta Thunberg and her save the planet fuckers? Surely this deserves the warrant of her attention?

    • Yeah, like Germany abandoning nuclear power and importing electricity from nuclear power plants in neighboring countries.

  3. I’m disgusted with the UN. They are “useless.”

Here’s a little excerpt from the next novel I’m writing. It’s poking fun at the “behind-closed-doors” boardroom meetings that seem to think we should just accept whatever some impersonal dork thinks we should, all for a supposedly “greater good.”

As much as Southman hinted at being a smarmy conman, somehow he seemed even more arrogant as he gestured towards the projector screen.
“This,” he said smugly, “is some of our clients and funded projects. As you can see, many receive benefits from following policies towards social and environmental initiatives. As you’re surely familiar, these are the guidelines of ‘Fulfillment, Acceptance, Integration, and Resources,’ also known as ‘FAIR.’ The Peoples’ Republic of China has been expanding on these progressive policies, which will soon strengthen their country into a new golden age. The American president Woodrow Wilson said, ‘We are citizens of the world. The tragedy of our times is that we do not know this.’ A lot of the FAIR policies have been inspired by others of course, but Mr. Wilson was a most enlightened man, defending prosperity against war, and the ‘roaring twenties’ followed after him.”
Both David Strongbow, and Peter Ironwood knew about the FAIR doctrine. But this familiarity came from others who substituted their own acronym instead, ‘Forced Agreements or Interdictions with Repression.’ Since the United Nations favored these policies, many conservative commentators and even some liberals attributed these policies as the “UN-FAIR” Guidelines. As for Wilson, Ironwood doubted the glowing narrative of that president, there was indeed a time of prosperity in the 1920’s, but the Great Depression of the 1930’s followed immediately after. Why didn’t Wilson’s legacy become more resilient, if it was so good? Wilson had expanded the controlling influence of government over the people after all, so how did that spread more “freedom?” The country was already free before Wilson, so why did it need more bureaucratic bullying?
Southman continued. “Under certain enlightened consideration from members of both your democratic party, and more ‘open-minded’ republicans, they have endorsed the certification of these policies. To give them an official stamp of approval and thus encourage the public towards better thoughts. If we want a better society, then we need the people to become better too, and-“
“Excuse me,” Peter interrupted “but by what moral authority do you define ‘better’ for thoughts, society or people? If you’re talking about it as the raison d’etre for the FAIR policies, then how do you know it’s correct if you’re subject to the same ‘flaws’ you’re trying to ‘fix?’ Hasn’t the world’s people done great things under those ideals already? Throughout history, whenever someone felt that they had ‘all the answers,’ and combined that notion with a position of supreme power, it always became fouled up. The french revolution, communism, nazism, cults, and others less familiar. All were born out of desire for the ‘improvement’ of society, but quickly became violent, devoid of any traditional examples of morals.”

  4. What they did really wasn’t graffiti since they used poster board and potentially did no damage to the vehicles. Was a great idea to publicly point out how useless the “organization” really is.Well done!😎👍
