Germany announced a new aid package to Ukraine.
Germany handed Ukraine a new large package of military aid , and also announced the transfer of AIM-9L guided missiles for F-16 and thousands of drones in the near future.
According to a message on the website of the German government, the new package included
- 8 LEOPARD 1 A5 tanks with spare parts (transferred jointly with Denmark)
- 20 MARDER infantry fighting vehicles with spare parts
- ammunition for tanks LEOPARD 2, LEOPARD 1 and BMP MARDER
- 4 MRAP anti-mine vehicles
In addition, the aid package included 2 IRIS-T air defense systems and their missiles, 6 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers with spare parts, 14,000 155-mm ammunition.
Germany also handed over 30 VECTOR reconnaissance drones to Ukraine.
In addition, the German government announced the transfer to Ukraine:
- AIM-9L missile (used on the F-16)
- 4000 strike drones
- 361 SONGBIRD reconnaissance drones
The aid package also includes demining equipment and small arms, tens of thousands of 40-mm cartridges and winter clothing.
