The minister added that it was too early to speculate about what might happen to the group’s format after Trump takes office on January 20.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Ukraine will receive 6 IRIS-T systems from Germany as early as 2025. This was reported on the social network X of the German Defense Ministry.
According to him, Germany will transfer the previously announced six IRIS-T systems to Ukraine in 2025.

“Germany continues to provide reliable and active support to Ukraine,” Pistorius added.
He also said the allied group aimed at speeding up arms deliveries to Ukraine would best remain U.S.-led but would adapt if Washington changed its involvement.
“And if the United States now decides not to support this format any more, then we will have to make our own decisions,” Pistorius said at the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense, sometimes called “Ramstein,” Reuters reported .
The minister added that it was too early to speculate on what might happen to the group’s format after Donald Trump took office on January 20.
Pistorius also said he was “surprised” by Trump’s refusal to rule out using military or economic measures to annex Greenland, but was optimistic that the president-elect’s comments would not impact current U.S. policy.
“I don’t know exactly what he’s aiming for, but allies and alliances are meant to remain that way, and otherwise they would just be loose alliances, not allies,” he said.
Aid to Ukraine from Germany
Earlier it became known that Germany will supply Ukraine with additional guided missiles for the IRIS-T systems, originally intended for the German army, in a short time and will adhere to its schedule for the delivery of the promised systems.
