Germany is RAPIDLY remilitarizing – and it’s a much bigger deal than most people realize. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is playing a big part, but it’s not the only factor. In fact, Germany is currently experiencing the perfect storm. From a floundering auto industry that sees military revenue as a path forward, to Donald Trump’s foreign policy, which has weakened the position of the United States in the future global arms trade, many things are coalescing to give Germany the incentives – and the opportunity – to reestablish themselves as a global military powerhouse. The effects will be far-reaching – and we’re only just beginning to truly understand them.
