Germany is sending anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine

October 10, 2022

Against the background of the massive missile strike, which the criminal Russian regime inflicted on Ukraine today, the German Ministry of Defense announced the delivery of the first air defense system to Ukraine.

“Germany is sending the first of four IRIS-T SLM air defense systems to Ukraine. The recent Russian missile attacks on Kyiv and other cities show how important possible air defense capabilities are for Ukraine’s self-defense,” the German Defense Ministry tweeted .

We will remind that, in general, Germany plans to supply Ukraine with four batteries of IRIS-T SLM air defense systems . In addition, the German federal government website states that budget is currently available for three additional IRIS-T SLM systems. According to the plan, the first IRIS-T SLM system should arrive in October, another one is expected to be delivered by the end of the year, and the remaining two in 2023.

The IRIS-T SLM system (organizationally one complex is a battery) consists of a surveillance radar, a control center and three launchers on which 24 anti-aircraft guided missiles are ready to be launched.

The Iris air defense system can intercept fighter jets, helicopters and drones within a radius of 40 kilometers and at an altitude of 25 kilometers. Short-range missiles and guided missiles, with which Russia is now shelling Ukrainian cities, can also be intercepted.

It was previously reported that Ukraine submitted an application to the German government to purchase eleven batteries of Iris-T SLM anti-aircraft missile systems from German industry, which is considered one of the most modern and expensive air defense systems.

Although, mafia land is running out of missiles, it still has enough to cause a certain amount of death and destruction. Such systems should have been in-country months ago already. How many more people must die before Ukraine has a nation-wide air defense system?
