Germany has suspended cooperation with Russia and Belarus in the tax sphere.

This was reported by the magazine Der Spiegel with reference to the Minister of Finance of Germany Christian Lindner, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

Lindner informed the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko about the suspension of cooperation in tax issues in a letter, the newspaper notes.

This decision was made in connection with Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine, which is carried out with the support of Belarus.

“In particular, the exchange of information between tax authorities is stopped. This is important because the tax authorities of countries can properly tax companies only if they have all the information about the tax,” said Der Spiegel.

It is also reported that Germany no longer reimburses Russian citizens and companies for deductions in the event of double taxation.

“We are determined to inflict additional economic damage on Russia and Belarus,” the German finance minister was quoted as saying by Der Spiegel.
