Germany’s reservation concerns plans for measures aimed at making it more difficult to circumvent EU sanctions.
Germany blocks new sanctions against Russia. It is precisely because of Berlin’s efforts that the new package has still not been adopted.
This was reported by the German publication RND with reference to DPA. According to the media, the German government is blocking negotiations on a new package of European Union sanctions against Russia. Berlin’s concern was the main reason for the delay in the new package of anti-Russian sanctions.
One of the EU officials said that Germany recently gives the impression of a “new Hungary”. Earlier, it was Budapest that hindered the adoption of new anti-Russian sanctions at the EU level.
Diplomats in Brussels said on condition of anonymity that Germany’s reservation refers to plans for measures aimed at making it more difficult to circumvent EU sanctions. Berlin is calling for the removal of the rule on the liability of branches of companies that may violate sanctions.
“The reason, obviously, is the fear that German companies may be held responsible for violating sanctions,” the publication writes.

Honestly it’s not just this. It’s the Taurus missiles, using Russian cash to help Ukraine, it’s the can’t attack Russia and the list goes on. He has too many patrons he needs to satisfy and many of these patrons are diametrically opposed to each other
