Germany Allows Donaustahl to Export MAUS FPV Drones: Kraken to Receive Them

MAUS is a universal quadcopter.

German company Donaustahl has received a license to produce and export MAUS drones . The first to receive them will be the Ukrainian division of “KRAKEN”.

“The German Federal Ministry of Economics has granted Donaustahl GmbH a license – under strict conditions – to manufacture and export the MAUS adaptive roving weapon platform as well as the PG7 rapid release and launch systems,” the company said in a statement published by X .

It is noted that the first recipient of these systems will be the reconnaissance and sabotage unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “KRAKEN”.

“MAUS will be the first Western system of its class to undergo a comprehensive assessment to prove its effectiveness,” the company added.

According to open source data, the German quadcopter can be used to perform reconnaissance and strike missions.

It is equipped with a high-resolution camera and can carry a payload of up to 2.7 kg. The stated range is from five to seven kilometers. It can also be armed with various types of ammunition.

Earlier, Western media reported that the Ukrainian military was already using these drones on the front. MAUS became the first FPV drone produced by NATO.

  1. Good. Ukraine can use all the drones it can get. But, the Taurus would be better.
